Interclub Black Powder Matches 2012

In 2007 during our monthly shoots the Baraga group shot postal targets against a Canadian Club from Sudbury (the Sudbury Voyageurs Muzzle Loading Rifle Club). The idea of the postal was generated by the Canadians. The response from the group shooting at the OSC was very positive, so we continued in 2008. Beginning in 2009 a third group of black powder shooters from Menominee, MI, has joined us in this International Match. Unfortunately, for 2012 the Canadian club could not particpate, but a club from Port Huron, MI, joined up.

The postal shoot works this way:  Different targets are designed for each month. The group at OSC shoots its targets on the 1st Saturday of each month from January through June as part of the club's monthly shoots. As you recall, each person shoots about 18 shots at our shoots. Six of the eighteen are on the postal targets, with the best five shots scored and counted towards the postal. The other groups shoot their targets at their desiginated time of each month for the same period.

The top five scores from each club are pitted against each other to determine a winning team. Every shooter who participated in the shoot is considered 'on the team'. However, only the top five are counted. The reason for the top five only counters is because the participating clubs do not necessarily have the same number of shooters each month.

This year the results to date are as follows, with the monthly winning scores shown in Bold:
