Footnotes
1. Memo from Sudbury coordinator: "It was 35 below zero and all but me and one other guy
wimped out so only we two shot the targets."
2. Score includes two targets shot with smoothbores.
3. Targets not as yet returned for scoring.

There are seven clubs competing in the matches this year. These clubs are:
  • Blue Water Sportsman's Association of Port Huron in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan
  • Dallas Muzzle Loading Gun Club of Dallas, Texas
  • Jefferson Longrifles of Tallahassee, Florida
  • McKinley Mountainmen Muzzle Loading Rifle Club of Anchorage, Alaska
  • Menominee Ridge Runners from Wisconsin
  • Baraga Blackpowder Bunch shooting at Ottawa Sportsmen's Club, U.P. of Michigan
  • Voyageurs Muzzle Loading Rifle Club from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
Each month shooters from each club fire six shots at identical paper targets (one target per individual shooter). The targets are placed 25 yards from the firing line. The five highest scoring shots on each shooter's target count toward the target score of 50 points maximum. Each club has a coordinator who submits all the club's targets to the UPMLA scoring person. Every shooter in each club who participated for the month is considered to be "on the team".

The five top-scoring targets from each club are added to make up the club's monthly score out of 250 possible points. (The reason for including only the best five is because the seven clubs usually do not have the same number of shooters each month.) The UPMLA scoring person returns the targets to club coordinators, along with a set of targets for the next month's shooting.
